Depending upon the size of your business and your desire, the stock can be issues publicly or you can choose to issue it privately. If your business has grown and it is larger corporation, you will need to appoint a board of directors to run the corporation. You can still run the company, but they will provide guidance and they do have the power to vote you out of office. The role of the board of directors is to make decision which are going to help the company and continue to keep it in tact and profitable for years to come.
